'Torture' is a synth-heavy ballad.
It came together very quickly. I wrote it and had the demo done in about 2 weeks. For some reason, instead of just finishing it, I shelved it for a year.
It was originally written as a duet with a female. The verses are suppose to go back and forth between the male and female voices, then the ending they intertwine. That version will be finished and posted sometime in the future, just not sure when.
The story behind the song is about meeting someone you make a connection with and know that you're suppose to be with, but, under the circumstances, it's never going to happen. I didn't really have this movie in mind when I wrote it, but if you have seen 'The Bridges of Madison County', you get the drift.

Its been such a long time
Since I've had feelings this way
but they're feelings I shouldn't have
I wish they would just go away

You're haunting my dreams
Every night I see you
I'm lost in your warm embrace
But the dream can never come true

It tortures me so much
To never have you
To never feel your touch
The torture has me consumed

Every since I have seen your face
I can't get it out of my mind
It's like I've known you forever
The soul I thought I would never find

It doesn’t matter what we want
Some things just can never be
I know I can never have you
And inside it's killing me

It tortures me so much
To never have you
To never feel your touch
The torture has me consumed

I wish there was something I could do
To spend eternity with you
But there's nothing I can ever say
I'll remember you until my last day

All I want is to be with you
And make my dream come true
Say nothing as you walk away

Your memory will never fade away

It tortures me so much
To never have you
To never feel your touch
The torture has me consumed
